Mock Election PBL

On the Campaign Trail. You and your classmates will be participating in a  mock election to practice what you have learned about the electoral process. One classroom policy and one class leader will be selected. Follow the trail from party formation to declaring a winner! Use this sheet to keep track of the many steps it takes to have an election.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Students will be able to...
  • Explain the steps taken from the primary season to the election through scaffolded activities.
  • Demonstrate the voting process in primary and class wide elections.
  • Describe the impact of an election at the classroom level in an open response activity.
  • Engage in a simulated democratic process.

Create a Party 
 Name, Select Symbol, Color & Five Values, 
 Candidate 
 Campaign Staff (Marketing-Paper, Communications- Audio&Visual, Policy Team)

Deliverables 
 Marketing-Paper -Create 21 Slogans & 6 Rough draft poster ( 3 slogans and 1 poster per person) 
  Communications- Audio&Visual- Create Four Commercial Ads (Answer these)

c. What  on message do you want to get across?
d. Where?: Location of video scene?   
  Policy Team- Create 16 Laws for this school
